Bing Wing

Bing Wing [bing·wing] n. the west wing of Green Library, it comprises the original library building, which first opened its doors on July 14, 1919, but was not seismically fit (among other issues) and was eventually shuttered for years. It was restored at a some dear expense, preserving the spirit of its grand architecture while modernizing its interiors and making it earthquake "safe." (The current Green Library building was originally considered an east annex to this building.) *note: named for donors Peter and Helen Bing in recognition of their considerable financial support.
