Hennessy
Hennessy [hen·ness·see] n. John L. Hennessy, Stanford University's 10th president, now emeritus; who served in the post for roughly 16 years; a computer scientist and businessman (current Chairman of Alphabet, Inc.); most often referred to simply by his surname. *also, archaic var., PrezHen [president + Hennessy].
NOTE: Stanford Presidents are usually either referred to by their surnames only or by their initials by the student body; the practice alternates depending on the perceived character of the president in question and his name. For instance, the current President is an initials man. -- Ed.
