StartupU
StartupU [start·up·yoo] n. nickname for Stanford, due to its proximity to (and its often incestuous relationship with) Silicon Valley, and its ascendancy as a direct feeder for Valley (i.e., tech) businesses. *note: the inside joke goes that students now come to Stanford merely to gain an entryway (contacts, funding, influence) for a proposed startup company.
