UGLY

UGLY [ug·lee] n. archaic Undergraduate Library, the moniker is both a specialized shortened form of the word/s (UnderGraduate + LibrarY) and also an apt descriptor of the architecturally plain building1 (Meyer).

1Meyer Library was razed in 2015 due to it being deemed seismically unsafe and too expensive to retrofit (in addition to being ugly). It was replaced in some fashion by Lathrop Library, which now houses the 24-hour Study Room functioning as the de facto undergraduate library. Lathrop, however, is apparently quite an attractive locale, thus continued usage of this term in modernity would no longer qualify as a double entendre.
