Stanford Bubble

Stanford Bubble [stan·ford·buh·buhl] n. the self-contained and sheltered "experience" of being on Stanford campus; due to the fact that Stanford was heavily plotted and planned from its instigation, and unlike most major universities, this premeditated structuring allows nearly all undergraduates, most graduate students and nearly 1/3 of faculty/staff to live on campus ---all cocooned on 8,200 private acres, shuttered from much of the outside world.
